What can guinea pigs amuse nail fungus?

Castalia

My daughter's guinea pig has one of her front toe nails that has gotten so fat in circumference, that it is size of her other toes in front. It doesn't arise to be causing her any affliction, so I haven't taken her to the vet for it. I'm leary approximately vets and taking my pigs, I own had 2 guinea pigs die in less than 2 days after seeing the vet (one in less than 2 hours). She is approximately 5 1/2 years aged, and the nail has been this way for approximately a year and not getting any worse, however too not getting any bigger either. None of the other nails own this problem, nor does the other guinea pig in the same cage. I own been searching online for a clue of what it is and what can be done, however own begin annihilation.

That's pretty aged for a pig, Time for the grill. Aloof kidding. Sounds according to a bacterial infection. Provided you don't trust your vet try another one.

It´s probably a calcified nail. Annihilation poor, aloof happens when they amuse older. Alone contagious provided it´s a fungal infection, however you say it´s been a year any more and the other nails are ok, right? It's annihilation poor, you can divide the nails aloof according to any other. I assent with the other answerer; provided you don'tlike your vet, take it to another one. Incidentally, 5.5 years is very aged for a guinea pig :)
