I own heard of "cures" that range from using bleach to Efferdent. Any tried and true suggestions?

Well, one of the oldest remedies, (and one that still works today) is to really include up the nail daily with mentholated cream such as vicks vapo-rub. It produces an anti-fungal and hermetic world which kills off the fungus that causes nail infection. Vasoline will too work, however the menthol-infused petroleum creams work bigger and faster...aloof a bit smellier. ;) Used it on my father's toe...worked good!

Try to acquisition *Dr G's Nails* it is a topical emollient that is put on, under, encircling the nail. I've heard alot of persons say that it really works. I've not personally used it however from the testimonials I've heard it might be worth a try.

Aboriginal of all, are you sure you own fungus. Some other causes of blackened toe nail are subungual hematoma (bleeding under the nail due to trauma). Second, OTC medications accomplish not work.
